Today is National Banana Bread Day and we couldn’t think of a more appropriate day to share a quarantine cookbook collection of the recipes our chefs shared with us back in 2020. As if any of us could forget, the restaurant had closed and we were all feeling our way through what we thought would be a few weeks, maybe months of closure.

Early days of sourdough

As the weeks went on sourdough and banana bread took over our socials, and we saw that we wouldn’t reopen quite as soon as we had hoped. We wanted to do something to keep spirits up and were in constant contact with our team so we had the idea to ask our chefs for some of their recipes to share. They were generous with their time, recipes, and cooking tips and we were delighted to share them with everyone through our social media channels. As we published them we saved all of the recipes in our Instagram stories; you can still check them out here.

Home cooking heroes

While people embraced cooking at home we wanted to give everyone a few restaurant-quality recipes that any home cook could easily tackle.  From soda bread to banana bread, avocado mousse to milk buns, strawberry tart to garlic prawns, and much more besides, we loved having a connection to our customers that reached out further than our dining room. Every time someone tagged us in a picture of a recipe they’d followed it truly gave us a lift.

A return to regular services

We seem to be coming to the tail end of the pandemic now (fingers crossed things keep improving) and we wanted to look at how far we’ve come. From making quarantine banana bread at home to serving a full house of guests across our main dining room, our Garden Room, and private dining suite we couldn’t be happier that things are returning to some semblance of normality.

Quarantine cookbook

We’ll always look back at those early days as a time when our team really pulled together. We want to share the fruits of that labour with you, so we’ve gathered our favourite recipes and created a quarantine cookbook packed with recipes from those first pandemic months. You can download your complimentary copy here. We’d love to know if you find a new favourite recipe so tag us on socials if you try any of them!

If cooking isn’t your thing and you’d prefer that we look after things in the kitchen you can join us for lunch or dinner by making a reservation here.  We’re always happy to welcome guests in person and show you our hospitality first hand.

KEEP TAKING CARE OF EACH OTHER AND DON’T FORGET TO FOLLOW US ON TWITTERINSTAGRAM AND FACEBOOK FOR UPDATES.
